The following statement was issued by the governor’s office:
“We’re tired of being told the statues are racist, so we’re updating our monuments to remind us of why we have the eighth-highest obesity rate in the United States. This is an epidemic that is racially-inclusive, and I think the late Colonel Sanders is probably looking down and smiling.”
